Performance Credentials

The Hong Kong Handflute Association offers professional commercial performance services, with the format adapted to suit the nature of each event.

Co-founder Leung Hei-yin (HeiYin) holds a Grade 8 trumpet qualification from the Royal Academy of Music; co-founder Yu Shun-hang (Ivan) brings extensive cross-instrument ensemble experience. Both have over a decade of handflute performance on record and have appeared on multiple major platforms: the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions' Arts Gala at Tsuen Wan Town Hall, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Family Harmony Carnival at Kowloon City Plaza, the Orbis World Sight Day experience events at Maritime Square and Kai Tak AIRSIDE, and the Hong Kong Overseas Cultural Exchange Association's "Pure Zheng 5" guzheng concert, among others.

Cross-Instrument Combinations

The guzheng collaboration deserves special mention — the tonal pairing of handflute and guzheng turns out to be unexpectedly harmonious, with the handflute's high-register melody and the guzheng's bass resonance creating clearly defined layers. This kind of cross-instrument experiment reflects the Association's ongoing exploration of what handflute performance can be.
