Media Coverage and Public Recognition: How Handflute Entered Hong Kong's Mainstream
A Record of Media Coverage
In August 2022, RTHK's Cultural Express was the first major media outlet to cover the Association. Over the following two years, the media record kept growing.
Key coverage includes: U Magazine in January 2023; RTHK's Sunday Kids in March; RTHK's Family Fun Day (hosted by Nancy Loo) in April; Time Out Hong Kong in December 2023; Ming Pao's supplement section in January 2024; TVB's programme Hands Up (Kid's Note) in May 2024; and Commercial Radio's Who Resonates in December 2025.

The TVB Watershed
The TVB appearance was a watershed moment. Television's reach meant that a large number of Hong Kong families who had never heard of handflute were exposed to the concept at the same time. The number of workshop enquiries the Association received afterwards increased noticeably. It is also worth noting that in May 2024, the Association organised Hong Kong's first-ever "Ding Ding Handflute Workshop" on a Hong Kong tram — performing handflute on a tram is, in itself, a compelling media image.
